Golf Course:
The Golf course is located in an area with natural vegetation, mainly populated with pine, running along the sea to the south. This sandy field with its mild features, includes a great variety of sceneries with even areas and gentle slopes, perfect for a round of golf. While the course’s smart technical design is suitable for international championship, golfers of every level will find the course enjoyable. The 18-hole course is 5.841 m and has a 71 par.
The Golf Nuevo Portil, which enjoys excellent weather all year round ( 13º to 24º) and over 300 days of sunshine, has fantastic facilities to make your favourite sport sheer pleasure: Training field close to Hole 1, large Putting Green and Chipping Green. The Golf Nuevo Portil is located at the Urbanizacion Nuevo Portil, in Cartaya, just 18 km. from Huelva, 91 from Sevilla and facing the ¨El Rompido ¨sand barrier more than 3 km long and 45 m high. Its proximity to the Seville and Faro airports ( 60 and 90 minutes, respectively ) makes it a place you may quickly access. It extends along 46 hectares and is 5.841 m long, perfect to walk on its gentle slopes and several dog-legs, and quite entertaining in addiction. Over the course and its 18 holes you will enjoy the most beautiful sights of the coast of Huelva: never-ending dune beaches, the ocean, or woods of pines and century-old savins. The exquisite design by Alfonso Vidaor, maintaining its initial flavour with wide lanes and pleasant greens, provides the field with a great quality and variety.
It takes its name from the Laguna del Portil, a coastal type of lagoon which is a bird sanctuary and a safe haven for chameleons, declared a Natural Reserve. The perfect culmination for the extraordinary surrounding beaches as well as for the paradise-like scenery of the coast of Huelva are the unique spots nearby including: the natural parks Paraje Natural Enebrales and Paraje Natural Marismas del Odiel , the El Rompido Dune Barrier, the close Colombian Sites, the national park Parque Nacional de Doñana and the Sierra de Aracena mountains with their Gruta de las Maravillas the Cavern of Wonders. And haven´t even mentioned the region´s rich gastronomy, mainly consisting of fish and seafood .
