Seminar fringe programmes:
Wine tasting at the Rosenau vineyard: After a brisk ten-minute walk, all of it beside
the lake, you will reach the Rosenau vineyard. Whilst enjoying a selection of cheeses and a
wonderful view over the vine slopes and Lake Lucerne, you can taste Lucerne's crispy wines.
Cycle ride to Kehrsiten: Cycle for an hour or more, the whole route along the lakeside,
to reach Kehrsiten at the foot of the Bürgenstock. Here you will find numerous inviting inns
and restaurants. Afterwards you can return by ferry, with your bicycle, directly to Seehotel
Kastanienbaum.
Evening Cruise on Lake Lucerne in the Fondue and Raclette Boat: The cruise begins from
the Hotel's own landing stage. For two to three hours you will enjoy the beauties of Lake
Lucerne and the Alps to the accompaniment of a barrel organ, be served Hobelfleisch (a meal of
slices meat), raclette of your choice or cheese fondue, fresh fruit salad and fruity white
wine.
Visit the glass factory in Hergiswil: A short trip by boat or bus takes you to
Hergiswil. Here you can visit the famous glass factory, where glass blowers have worked since
1817. In the glass factory's shop you are bound to find a little present for the folks back
home.
